2nd Grade Families!
If there is a change in their "normal" afterschool plan, please send a note with your student. I want to make sure every child gets to where they are suppose to be safely.
The weather will be changing and we will soon break out the jackets and sweatshirts! I can't wait.
Please be mindful of the weather in the next few weeks and send those jackets if needed.
We have had several children home sick already. I too have had a bad cold. We have already talked about covering our mouths when we cough or sneeze, as those germs spread throughout our classroom if we don't.
If you would like your child to participate in Class Dojo, please sign and return the sign-up sheet I sent home. If you need another one please let me know and I can print another set of directions and send them home. The app is free to download on your phone or computer. I have received several signed sheets but the student is not connected yet. Don't forget to follow the directions and get connected with our class!

The Black Stallion
I read the story of The Black Stallion to the students. As I read the story we watched clips of the movie and compared and contrasted the differences. The students soon realized the book was much more exciting and had many more details! They kept a journal about the story and we also learned about nouns and adjectives that were used throughout the book. The students came up with a lot of descriptive words to describe the main characters, Alec and the Black. This clip was some of the students favorite part! Please look at their journals, they did a great job with them!

Working on our Little Pig Houses!
We decided to use flour, salt, and water for our foundations. Now our walls are going up. Finally it is the blow test! Can the Wolf blow it down or will it take a more forceful wind? We will find out tomorrow!
